I have a lot of purchased Kindle content. I tried to download them using the USB download option, but it said I needed to download the Kindle for PC app to my Windows desktop. I downloaded it but Amazon still doesn't recognize that I've done that. I can download a different way using the Kindle Windows app, but there's no mention of USB download so I don't know if that's going to be the same. A Google search points to lots of tips that talk about file formats I don't see being downloaded to my PCs, while other formats are being downloaded. And I have to use the Kindle app in any event.

It doesn't work for everyone or every Kindle. We were able to download all of Denise's files using the technique ZDNET is posting tomorrow. But I couldn't get any of my books to download, even though I just bought a new Kindle. Hours on tech support with Amazon yielded nothing but frustration. Try different apps, machines, etc. Good luck!
